In Annecy, locals simply call it "the cycle path". The Lake Annecy greenway links Annecy to Doussard over about 33 km, along the western shore, on the route of the old railway. Flat, wide, paved and entirely separated from traffic, it's one of the finest cycle routes in France — and the perfect start to the lake bike loop.
📍 The route & distances
The greenway starts in the heart of Annecy, runs along the Pâquier then heads south along the lake. Here are the distances from Annecy to plan your ride:

At Doussard you can turn back or complete the full lake loop (~40 km) up the eastern shore. On that eastern section the path is shared with the road in places: take care with children.

From June to August the greenway is busy midday. Before 10am you get the path and cool air to yourself.
